The FRIENDS OF ST LAURENCE CHORLEY is an autonomous organisation of members to raise funds for the cares and maintenance of the Church and buildings of St Laurence Church and to develop these assets for the benefit of the wider community. The constitution was adopted at a meeting of members on November 25 2018 and the Committee appointed at a subsequent meeting on January 13. Steps are being taken to apply for charitable status. This section of the website contains details of the day to day running of the organisation including the constitution, committee membership, minutes of meetings and reports. Financial statements will be posted as they become available. St Laurence’s Church is situated in the centre of Chorley. It is believed that there has been a Church on that site since Anglo Saxon times. St Laurence’s is a unique link with the past providing a vital sense of continuity and local identity.
